AUTOMOTIVE
The automotive industry is constantly
changing. At Apple Locksmith we keep up
with the latest available technology to
enable us to make keys for most vehicles
on the road today, including transponder
keys (or “chip keys”). Transponder keys
have
electronically coded chips embedded in
the plastic body of the key and were
introduced in 1995. The chip is passive,
so it doesn't need a battery – the code
is read when you turn the key in the
ignition. The transponder is not visible
from the outside of the key. If the
transponder chip is broken, unprogrammed,
or missing, the engine won't start.
Almost 95% of new vehicles sold in the
U.S.A. are equipped with this
transponder technology.
Our shop has the equipment required
to program and make these keys, and our
staff has the know-how to
do it while you wait, saving you time
and money. No more leaving the car for
a day to have the keys programmed. If
the keys are lost or missing for your
vehicle, we have the ability to make the
keys and program them at your location
with no need for towing. We also have
the ability to program additional
remotes, service broken or damaged
locks, extract broken keys from your
car, and even have the locks rekeyed or
changed if needed and more!
Come in and see why Apple Locksmith is
the only shop you need for your automotive
needs!
